Marguerite identifies as a Black disabled and neurodivergent woman. Marguerite brings both professional expertise and lived experience of ADHD, dyslexia, MS and deafness, giving her personal insight into how fluctuating and progressive conditions affect communication in formal environments.

She is a specialist teacher and consultant, SEND assessor and parent of an autistic adult who brings both professional expertise and lived experience to her work. Marguerite has over two decades of experience across education, local authority services, and the voluntary sector.

Operating independently through The Big e, she provides specialist assessments through a neuroaffirming, intersectional, and practical lens to ensure the needs of children and young people are identified.

Marguerite holds Qualified Teacher Status, Fellow-level QTLS, a Master’s in Autism and is a BPS-registered Advanced Dynamic Assessment Practitioner and qualified Assistant and Test User.

Marguerite is the lead assessor for Unveiling Perspectives, known as the UP Project, a funded initiative that provides free assessments for Black children and young people with unidentified or unmet needs and documents the lived experiences of families throughout their SEND journey.

Knowledgeable in UK SEND legislation, Marguerite collaborates with organisations championing racial and social justice and is passionate about building meaningful relationships with parents, young people and professionals alike.
